The following obituary was published in the Albuquerque Journal
and the Albuquerque Tribune on February 7, 1996.
BROLINE--Colonel Leonard Collis Broline, 44, a born native of
Augusta Georgia, residing in Placitas, New Mexico, passed away
Thursday February 1, 1996. He is survived by his wife Claire
Broline of Placitas, and one brother, Jay Sproul. Colonel Broline
earned the Meritorious Service Medal for his contributions to his
country and the United States Air Force. His achievements
consisted of holding positions as Executive Officer, Physics
Course Director, Assistant Professor, Director of Plans, Pilot for
the Parachute Team, Pilot of UV-18, instructor of both F-117 and
AT-38B, Tactical Fighter Training Squadron Operations Officer and
37th Operations Group Deputy Commander for Operations in Saudi
Arabia. He was also Chief, leading a team for AFOTEC and test
planning. As a graduate of Squadron Officers School, Air Command
and Staff College, and Air War College, he earned the respect and
admiration of all with whom he worked. His contributions will
always be greatly admired and appreciated. Services for Colonel
Broline were celebrated Thursday, February 8, 1996, at 11:00 a.m.
at Air Force Base East Chapel with Chaplain Snyder presiding.
